Wellspring Health Services was established in 2016 by Dr. Khalid Athar, who previously served as the Medical Staff President for UVA Culpeper Hospital and dedicated over a decade to the community at the Culpeper Surgery Center. The creation of Wellspring was driven by the need for more medical care options in the community. By redesigning the traditional family practice model to include accessible family practice and in-house specialty services, Wellspring has successfully influenced change in other family practices.
